Filling a seven-month-old vacancy, the county Democratic Party’s governing Central Committee voted unanimously July 27 to appoint Erik Taylor as executive director. After three years in the post, Nick Anas left in January to take a government-relations job with the Dart Container Corp., according to the OC Register.
Taylor is a former associate at Duffy and Capitolo, in Sacramento and he headed up the California College Democrats from 2013 through last year. He worked as an organizer for the Orange County Employees Association in 2012 and also headed up the Chico State Student Democratic Club that year. He is a graduate of Santa Ana’s Mater Dei High School.
Orange Juice blogger Greg Diamond noted in a recent post that the DPOC’s Central Committee was not provided with any information about Taylor – not even his identity, in the agenda for the meeting at which his selection was approved, unanimously.
