The race for the 74th Assembly District heated up as former GOP funder and activist Howard Ahmanson attacked RINO candidate Keith Curry with a mailer. But Ahmanson also ripped into Democratic candidate Anila Ali – actually quoting an article I wrote a few months ago, in another mailer that also touted former Republican Karina Onofre.
Just got the last batch of mail before the election and this one piece really stuck out to me. It’s a negative mail piece against Keith Curry that is done through an IE called “Local Liberty PAC” with major funding by “Fieldstead & Company”. Fieldstead is the political vehicle Howard Ahmanson donates through.
Re. “Commentary: Political caricatures speak to the need for adults in charge,” (May 28): Political campaigns are about ideas, experience, effectiveness and vision. They are also tests — of hard work, discipline and determination. Voters are the judge.
What Newport Beach City Councilman Keith Curry presents as age discrimination is truly upside-down logic. No one is opposing Curry because of his age; voters are turning away from him because of his many years as a government insider trying to grow the size of the public sector. They know he’s a bad fit for this district, and his antiquated views would have terrible consequences in the Assembly.
While his opponent, Keith Curry, has supported Jerry Brown’s Bullet Train in the past, AD74 Candidate Emanuel Patrascu has always opposed this awful waste of money and threat to private property.
