Popular Mission Viejo Mayor Ed Sachs Announces Reelection Campaign focused on Public Safety, Balanced Budgets, and Safe Schools
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Today, current Mission Viejo Mayor, Ed Sachs announces his campaign for reelection to the Mission Viejo City Council. First elected to the Mission Viejo Council in 2014, the Chairman Emeritus of Pioneer Electronics brings private sector solutions to public sector issues.
“For almost thirty years, my family and I have called Mission Viejo home,” Mayor Sachs said. “Mission Viejo is a wonderful community and I am honored to serve here. My number one concern has always been the safety of the community. I will continue to work with law enforcement and our emergency personnel to ensure they have the resources they need to keep Mission Viejo safe.”
“We have made great strides over the last four years,” Mayor Sachs said. “We have reduced our unfunded pensions and have made improvements that are already making a positive impact. I am most proud of Secure Orange County Schools, an organization that I started which brings law enforcement, education, and community leaders together to create safer schools.”
Ed is a very involved community member, he is the Chairman for the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Board of Directors. He also serves on the Housing Ad Hoc Committee, and the Standing Economic Development Ad Hoc Committee. In addition, he resides on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Agency and is the Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency. The most recent addition to his community involvement is becoming the President of the Orange County League of California Cities Chapter.
Ed is married to Leagh Sachs, an award-winning photographer whose work has been shown at the Orange County Fair and a San Juan Capistrano Gallery. The Sachs family includes two adult children, David and Daniel, and Charles the bird. David and Daniel both grew up in Mission Viejo participating in soccer, martial arts, high school football and hockey before attending college. David has taken a focus on the arts as a prominent photographer and Daniel is now serving as a proud U.S Airmen.
