United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 324 Endorse Rickk Montoya For Garden Grove City Council District 6
Garden Grove, CA – Garden Grove City Council District 6 Candidate Rickk Montoya today announced the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 324 has endorsed his campaign.
“I’m honored to receive this endorsement from UFCW Local 324 and stand with my brothers and sisters in the labor movement,” Montoya said. “I’m excited to continue fighting for working families across the district as we work together to bring good jobs, neighborhood improvements and new economic opportunities to District 6.”
UFCW represents the 23,000 men and women employed in the Food, Dental, Financial, Health Care, Optometry, Packinghouse, Processing, Retail Drug, and Merchandise Industries throughout Orange and southern Los Angeles Counties. UFCW represents employees of some national chain grocery stores including Ralphs, Albertsons, and Vons.
This endorsement follows other major endorsements for Montoya’s campaign such as the Garden Grove Firefighters IAFF Local 2005, Democratic Party of Orange County, Orange County Labor Federation and Garden Grove School Board Trustee Teri Rocco.
Rickk Montoya was raised in the same East Garden Grove community where he and his wife currently own a home and raise their children. He attended Woodbury Elementary, Doig Intermediate and graduated from Santiago High School. He also spent over 10 years serving in the United States Army. He currently works as a 911 Dispatcher with the Los Angeles Police Department. Rickk also serves the City of Garden Grove as the Chair of the Parks, Recreation & Arts Commission.
