As if things weren’t tough enough already for the California Republican Party delegation that traveled to the Republican Party’s nominating convention in Cleveland, OH, now we are finding out that the delegation was hit by a bad case of explosive vomiting and diarrhea!
Here is an update from the California Republican Party:
“The Erie County Health Department has confirmed through testing that the California Delegation staffers that fell ill had Norovirus. We are continuing to work closely with county health officials and are following any and all directives to keep the virus from spreading. We are also awaiting communication from the Ohio Department of Public Health and will ensure compliance with any additional directives that may be forthcoming.
“We have had no new outbreaks in the last 24 hours and will continue to remain vigilant in our work to stop the virus from spreading. Please note that no Delegates have been ill.”
Norovirus is a very contagious virus that can infect anyone. You can get it from an infected person, contaminated food or water, or by touching contaminated surfaces. The virus causes your stomach or intestines or both to get inflamed. This leads you to have stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea and to throw up. These symptoms can be serious for some people, especially young children and older adults, according to the CDC.
