Bob Hall, the City Manager in Fountain Valley, apparently sent out an “Official City of Fountain Valley Voter Survey” by email on February 6, 2016.
The survey states:
“The City of Fountain Valley has hired FM3, an independent public opinion research company, to conduct a public opinion survey of City of Fountain Valley residents to obtain feedback on key issues facing our community”.
Your participation and responses to this survey will be completely confidential. The identity of individual respondents and their individual answers to survey questions will not be shared with City officials.
Thank you for participating in this important research. You may call the City at (714) 593-4412 if you have any questions about the survey. Please click here to take the survey.
The FM3 survey results will be reviewed on Tuesday, 3/15 at 5 p.m. at the Study Session an hour PRIOR to the Fountain Valley City Council Meeting…yes, the Study Session. Unfortunately, Study Sessions are not televised, though many people feel they should be. In fact, City staff is now researching this since Council Member Mark McCurdy recently suggested it.
Fountain Valley residents paid for the mysterious survey, yet they still remain in the dark. A large portion of local residents did not receive it and City Hall has not shed any light on it whatsoever even after City Council candidate Kim Constantine publicly requested it at the 2/16 City Council meeting. It was announced at that time that the results would be heard at a future City Council Meeting; however even that is not accurate.
Come to the City Council meeting on Tuesday. Everyone is welcome to attend and speak for 3 minutes. Want to send your thoughts to City Hall about this (or anything for that matter)? The email address is email@example.com.
Additionally, at the 6 p.m. City Council meeting that follows the Study Session, the City Board, Commission, and Committee and appointments will be announced. The good news is that the City Council meeting is televised.
