The California Democratic Convention endorsed Kamala Harris for Senate on a vote of 78% in favor. Of the 2,139 ballots cast, 19.3% were for Loretta Sanchez and 2.6% voted for no endorsement at all, according to the L.A. Times.
Apparently Harris was welcome enthusiastically while Sanchez got a tepid welcome.
Sanchez won her House seat without support from her party so this is nothing new to her.
Of greater concern is the fact that Sanchez is acting like the former Republican she is while Harris is running to the left. And that is how you win Democratic Party primaries.
This is all bad news for residents of Southern California. Both of our current U.S. Senators in this state are from Northern California – and so is Harris. Sanchez is our only hope to get equal representation in the U.S. Senate.
Unfortunately for Sanchez she is getting “Berned” by Harris – and I don’t think she can change her act at this late date.
