The last time Don Wagner ran against John Moorlach, for the 37th State Senate District, he raised a bundle. But this time Wagner is getting a cold shoulder from donors as many Republicans are upset that he is challenging a Republican incumbent, as Moorlach is the elected State Senator in the 37th S.D.
Wagner only had $7,119 cash on hand, according to the California Secretary of State. And he has already spent $29,006, including $16,500 for a poll.
Moorlach has $105,225 cash on hand. Moorlach surpassed expectations in fundraising, bringing in $128,754 in new contributions in the last six months of 2015, according to the OC Political blog. And he is raking in all of the endorsements too.
Wagner has apparently not formally announced his campaign for the State Senate. He really needs to drop out altogether and find something else to do with his time.
