Governor Makes Move to Protect Union Closed Door Deal Negotiations
Senator Moorlach responds to signing of SB 331 “CRONEY”
ORANGE COUNTY–Senator John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa) issued the following statement in response to the governor signing Senate Bill 331 (Mendoza), “CRONEY,” today:
“With the signing of the bill, Governor Brown just slammed the door in the face of California taxpayers. SB 331 ends the openness in public employee union compensation negotiation efforts through initiatives for good and transparent government, like Civic Openness in Negotiations (COIN).
Public employee unions saw COIN as a threat, and the Governor was glad to oblige.
Many editorial boards advocated for COIN, but unions obviously have our Governors’s ear.”
Senator Moorlach is available for interview on SB 331. Contact David Mansdoerfer at 949-223-5037.
