Senate Republican Leader Supports Efforts of Voter Registration Day
SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement acknowledging September 22, 2015 as Voter Registration Day and supporting efforts to register all eligible voters, not only in California, but throughout the nation.
“The greatest right we have, as Americans, is the right to vote,” said Sen. Fuller. “Many brave Americans have given their lives so we can continue enjoying the many freedoms we have in this great country – including the right to vote. I encourage every Californian to take advantage of Voter Registration Day and the coordinated effort to register all eligible voters in the Golden State.”
According to the latest figures from the website of the California Secretary of State, over 17.7 million of the state’s more than 24.3 million eligible voters are registered to vote – just over 72 percent of all eligible voters.
