CA SCHOOL’S CHIEF PICKS SEN. LOU CORREA FOR CONGRESS
Correa Gains Key Support from California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson in CA-46 Bid
SANTA ANA, CA— Continuing to fuel his momentum surge, today former California State Senator Lou Correa added a new, influential endorser to his roster of supporters as he campaigns to represent California’s 46th Congressional District seat: California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson.
In endorsing former State Senator Correa, California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson stated:
“Having worked closely with Senator Correa in the State Legislature, I can attest to his firm commitment to improving our local neighborhood schools, to making college more accessible and affordable, and to addressing student loan debt. Throughout his career, Senator Correa has worked hard to increase investments in our education system to ensure that our kids gain the knowledge and the skills they need to compete in the 21st century and its ever-evolving economy. I know he’ll do the same in Washington and that’s why I’m pleased to support him for Congress.”
In response to the endorsement, former State Senator Lou Correa expressed his gratitude by declaring:
“I’m so grateful to have the support of California’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson. As California’s school chief, he’s done an exceptional job of working to ensure that our students have access to a world-class education system. Moreover, as a former teacher himself, Tom has been an advocate and a leader on behalf of local classroom teachers, all of our students, classified employees, concerned parents, and more. His endorsement means a great deal to me personally, and it speaks volumes about my commitment to enhancing our education system.”
Recently, former State Senator Correa has rolled out influential endorsements from Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair & Congresswoman Linda Sanchez as well as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ fundraising arm, the Building Our Leadership Diversity (BOLD) PAC.
Correa served in the California State Senate, representing the 34th District, from 2006- 2014 and served the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster. Prior to the Senate, he served on the Orange County Board of Supervisors representing the 1st District. Before his time on the Board, Correa served in the California State Assembly representing the 69th District.
