Former Villa Park City Councilwoman Deborah Pauly announced today that she is going to run for the 68th Assembly District in 2016. The incumbent in that seat, Don Wagner, is terming out.
Pauly will face off against Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu, who is part of former Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle’s lousy cabal that has given away millions of taxpayer dollars in corporate welfare to hotel developers and the Disney company.
The 68th Assembly District encompasses the Anaheim Hills portion of Anaheim, Orange, Villa Park, Tustin, North Tustin unincorporated areas, Irvine and Lake Forest. Pauly has represented this area as an elected member of the Central Committee of the Republican Party of Orange County for nearly a decade.
Pauly was instrumental in helping to defeat Wagner when he ran against former Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach for the State Senate. So you can bet that Moorlach will be helping Pauly this time and Wagner will be working with Sidhu. Pauly will also have help from the O.C. Tea Party.
Sidhu ran afoul of campaign finance laws after his last failed campaign when the Orange County District Attorney said that donations he received for his candidacy for Orange County Supervisor from an Anaheim Hotelier were illegal, according to California Political Juice.
