Senate Minority Leader Reacts to Budget Signing
SACRAMENTO – In response to today’s formal signing of the 2015-16 state budget, Senate Minority Leader Bob Huff (R-San Dimas) issued the following statement:
“I remain concerned that the record high spending levels will not be sustainable in the near future, and I disagree with some of the priorities in this budget plan. Our crumbling infrastructure should have been part of the budget.
“However, I am pleased that it reflects the more sensible revenue projections, increases funding for education, grows our state rainy day reserve, and pays down past budgetary debts. We still have a lot more work to do to improve our state’s fiscal health and eliminate the $200 billion of outstanding debts and liabilities.
“Senate Republicans remain committed to fighting for California families which includes investing funds in infrastructure such as water, fixing our crumbling roads, and creating jobs to keep the Golden State moving.”
