We recently reported how Arturo Garcia, a former staffer to State Senator Bob Huff, was unceremoniously fired due to pressure from the teachers union, while he was helping parents in Anaheim to figure out how to pull the “parent trigger” so they could turn a failing public school into a charter school.
Garcia has landed on his feet. He posted this message on his Facebook page this week: “I am honored to say that I am now working for the legendary Senator Gloria Romero (Ret.) and her CA Center for Parent Empowerment, in conjunction with the Orange County Lincoln Club and the CA Policy Center!”
Meanwhile Huff has announced that he will lose his leadership position as Leader of the California Republicans in the State Senate by 11/1. He will be replaced by Senator Jean Fuller from Bakersfield.
Huff might try to run for something else down the road but what he did to Garcia won’t soon be forgotten. Huff can forget trying to get support from Latino voters – or from conservatives. If Huff can’t stand up to the public employee unions what good is he?
