We’d hope (and even pray) that the House Republicans not suffering with a case of cranial rectal inversion pay attention to Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert’s announcement on Fox this a.m. that he wishes to replace the simply terrible John Boehner.
Boehner is a poster boy RINO and completely fails to appreciate that the Rs won a huge victory in November. A GOP House majority could effectively use their power to offset the next two years of damage which Obama will cause, start some healing of the budget and stop Obamacare and amnesty. Gohmert could accomplish that; Boehner will sell us out (again).
We’ll be watching closely to see how Orange County Congressmen/women handle this month. Mimi Walters could use this opportunity to support Gohmert and immediately establish herself as a freshman to be reckoned with. Ed Royce likely isn’t smart or brave enough to take the Gohmert option — he’s establishment and will revert to his usual ‘go along, get along’ strategy that’s caused him to have so little impact over his career (but protected his incumbency). And we actually think that Dana Rohrabacher is conservative enough to do the right thing, even though he’s long washed up as a member of Congress and only in it for the money (and to keep his wife on the payroll).
Kelly Hubbard from the OC Tea Party allows us to reprint his material — he had a particularly smart post today about this huge opportunity to get a conservative to lead the Republican majority:
