Hundreds Expected at OCTA Business Expo to Accelerate Opportunities in Transportation
WHAT: The Orange County Transportation Authority’s Business Expo will give business leaders and owners the opportunity to network with and to attend workshops and panels led by some of Southern California’s top businesses and transportation agencies.
WHO: Approximately 500 participants are expected to attend, and more than 100 vendors will exhibit their products and services.
Transportation officials from OCTA, Riverside County Transportation Commission, San Bernardino Associated Governments and Caltrans will join consultants and other business leaders in panels, discussions and business networking throughout the day.
Keynote Speaker Kish Rajan, director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, will discuss the state’s economic and business landscape.
Wing Lam, the co-founder and owner of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, will discuss his journey from South America to Southern California and how he established a nationally known brand that focuses on fresh surf-inspired Mexican cuisine. He tells his story with the hopes of inspiring other business owners toward success.

WHY: OCTA spends approximately half a billion dollars purchasing goods and services from local businesses every year with funding from Measure M, Orange County’s voter-approved half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, as well as state and federal sources. OCTA and other local transportation officials want to help business owners understand the process of contracting with public agencies.
