We stumbled across this yesterday on Facebook (with the above photo): Three Years and Still No Justice for Kelly Thomas.
Cassandra Rules has a good point in that no one’s ever been punished for killing an innocent man on the streets of Fullerton. Jay Cicinelli and Manuel Ramos are no longer on the Fullerton police force, and the three others fingered in the crime, Kenton Hampton, James Blatney, and Sergeant Kevin Craig, are apparently back in their usual jobs as they were cleared by FBI and District Attorney despite being at the beating that killed Thomas and not interfering with their colleagues as they beat an innocent man to death on surveillance video.
In fact, the feckless OC District Attorney, Tony Rackauckas, recently won re-election to his fourth term despite losing the spectacular Kelly Thomas murder trial AND immediately afterwards, dropping all charges against the third involved officer, Joe Wolfe.
Rules reports the only consolation — Cicinelli and Ramos have only found scut work to pay the bills:
Jay Cicinelli is a mail carrier for the city of Huntington Beach. His route is known, and Kelly’s Army has already put flyers in every mailbox letting people know who their mail man is and what he has done. Ramos is currently doing remodelling and construction in Yorba Linda with his brothers.
Wolfe is also no longer with Fullerton PD and looks to have gone underground.
The civil trial against the killers reportedly starts on December 1st. There’s no word if Cicinelli and Ramos will have their legal bills again covered for them.
