Fully three separate stories are headlined today on the front page of the online Voice of OC reporting issues with the Orange County District Attorney’s office and its feckless leader, Tony Rackauckas — and not a one of them was found reported in the failing OC Register.
Thank you, Rex Dalton, for keeping an eye on these public servants.
Rackauckas was re-elected in this year’s Open Primary Election with over 73% of the vote, according to Smart Voter. The only opponent the Democrats could muster was liberal blogger Greg Diamond who was removed as his party’s local Vice Chair mere weeks before the election after he tweaked the trade unions by opposing the givewaway of millions of taxpayer dollars to a hotel developer in Anaheim who promised to use union labor to build hotels at the failing Gardenwalk development.
Rackauckas was endorsed this year by both Democratic and Republican elected officials: Sheriff Hutchens, Congressmen Rohrabacher and Royce, Senators Correa, Huff and Walters, Assemblymembers Allen, Daly, Hagman, Harkey and Wagner; Supervisors Bates, Nelson and Nguyen, Board of Equalization Member Steel, OCGOP Chair Baugh, retired OC Democratic Chair Barbaro, as well as numerous prosecutors, law enforcement, victims’ rights leaders and public employees, according to his campaign website.
