CA State Senator Ted Gaines Visits Texas To Tout California Business Climate
Discusses efforts to bring Tesla “Gigafactory” to CA
SACRAMENTO – In an effort to attract, retain and grow California businesses, California State Senator Ted Gaines (R-Roseville), Republican Caucus Chair, is visiting the Texas State Capitol to discuss his efforts in promoting California as the premier destination for business relocation, business expansion and economic development.
At the center of the discussion is Tesla, a California-born automobile company that is about to build a massive battery factory, the “gigafactory,” that will result in a $5 billion capital investment and 6,500 new jobs. In response to Governor Rick Perry’s recent visit to the California State Capitol driving a Tesla, Senator Gaines will discuss how California is going to compete for those jobs and pull out all the stops to get the factory built in the Golden State.
Senator Gaines’ visit will also include meetings with businesses to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of the Texas business climate, which will help inform future California legislation.
