Well this one is a head-scratcher. Apparently Supervisor Todd Spitzer has endorsed Michelle Steel, the Los Angeles County carpetbagger running to replace termed out Supervisor John Moorlach in the 3rd District of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, according to a press release you can read below.
Steel has the support of the corrupt cabal that created disgraced former O.C. Sheriff Mike Carona, including Mike Schroeder, who was married to Susan Kang (until he got a DUI and then he dumped her), who works for the OCDA, Tony Rackauckas. It is widely suspected that when Rackauckas retires, Kang will go for his job – and Steel is expected to support that.
But didn’t Rackauckas fire Spitzer? So why would Spitzer want to play footsie with this bunch, when a decent conservative, Assemblyman Allan Mansoor, is also running for the 3rd District?
I suppose Spitzer endorsed Steel because the public employee unions, specifically the OC Deputy Sheriff’s Association, are supporting her. Of course they are! She has all but assured them that she will be voting for a big raise for them, I’m sure. And you know Spitzer loves the cop unions.

Michelle Steel Receives Endorsement from Supervisor Todd Spitzer
Huntington Beach, CA – – County Supervisor Todd Spitzer today endorsed Michelle Steel for County Supervisor, giving Steel the support of 4 of 5 current Supervisors. Spitzer represents the 3rd district on the Board of Supervisors and is also a former Orange County State Assemblyman.
Steel received an impressive 47.7% of the vote in the four-way primary election, more than doubling the second place finisher on Tuesday. She currently represents Orange County on the State Board of Equalization, where she serves as California’s foremost taxpayer advocate.
“I am very grateful to receive Supervisor Spitzer’s endorsement and I look forward to working with him on issues he is passionate about, including the rights of crime victims,” said Steel.
In addition to Spitzer, Steel has the support of Supervisors Shawn Nelson, Janet Nguyen and Pat Bates, Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, District Attorney Tony Rackauckas and many other local and community leaders. She is also endorsed by Congressmen Dana Rohrabacher and Ed Royce and Senator Mimi Walters.
