WALTERS, BATES, HARKEY OFFER BILL BROUGH CONGRATULATIONS AND ENDORSEMENT
Past Three 73rd Assembly District Members – Supervisor Pat Bates, Senator Mimi Walters, and Assemblywoman Diane Harkey – join Congressman Darrell Issa in Backing Brough
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Senator Mimi Walters, Assemblywoman Diane Harkey, and Supervisor Pat Bates today announced their endorsement of Bill Brough and offered him their congratulations for his overwhelming victory in the June 3rd primary election.
“Bill has the character and integrity to do an outstanding job in Sacramento,” said Assemblywoman Diane Harkey. “I congratulate him for a well run race, and I am proud to support him to replace me in the 73rd Assembly District.”
“It is an honor to have the full confidence of the three previous Assembly members from the 73rd Assembly District,” Brough responded. “The constituents of the 73rd District have been fortunate to have such outstanding leadership for the past two decades. Supervisor Pat Bates, Senator Mimi Walters, and Assemblywoman Diane Harkey have served this district with distinction, and I’m honored to have an opportunity to follow in their footsteps.”
By a wide margin, Bill Brough received the highest number of votes of any Republican on the June 3rd ballot. He now moves on to appear on the November ballot against Democrat Wendy Gabriella in the 73rd Assembly District, the second safest Republican district in the State of California.
As of today, Bill Brough handily won his Republican primary race for State Assembly with 16,365 votes, coming within 55 votes of beating his Democrat opponent, even with 3 other Republican challengers on the ballot.

“By a wide margin, Bill Brough received the highest number of votes of any Republican on the June 3rd ballot.” – I think that says it all. He couldn’t beat a Democrat in the 73rd, so let’s focus on the Republicans Brough beat. How sad. And I hate to point out the obvious, but Harkey, Walters and Bates only endorsed him once he became the ONLY Republican choice. Where were they before the Primary? Certainly not in Brough’s court. Congratulations Bill Brough, for a victory achieved in default.
But some how he forgot to pay his mortgage for a year or more. Foreclosure anyone?
