I tried to stay neutral in the race for the 73rd Assembly District but today’s announcement by the Anna Bryson campaign that she has been endorsed by Paul Glaab, who withdrew from this race, and Frank Ury was too much for us to take. We are not fans of the consultant types who run the OC GOP and these two are major offenders in that regard. Click here to see all of Bryson’s endorsements.
So we are endorsing Jesse Petrilla, who was elected to the City Council of Rancho Santa Margarita in November of 2010. In addition to serving as a city councilman, Jesse is an officer in the California Army National Guard and is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan. He is also a successful small business owner in the telecommunications industry.
Note that while Glaab and Ury are politicians Petrilla is a public servant as a member of the military and he is a small business owner. That is exactly the type of leadership we need in Sacramento. It also helps that Petrilla is a young father while the rest of his opponents are quite long in the tooth, except for Bill Brough, who like Glaab is a government consultant. Brough is also beholden to the developers making him a bad option in our opinion.
Bryson is a School Board Member at Capistrano Unified. She appears to own some sort of tech business as well.
