It is true that Anna Bryson, who is running for the 73rd Assembly District, split with Ellen Addonizio, as my colleague Aaron Park pointed out today in his latest screed against Bryson. But one of my readers emailed me the details about what happened between Bryson and Addonizio.
You see while Park was writing about 2010, he should have dug deeper. Addonizio sold out to the CUSD teacher’s union way back in 2006. In fact my reader was there when it happened. He sent me this blow by blow account:
Ellen came into our building, filled out our endorsement application and got it. If I remember right so did Larry Christensen. They both got our endorsement. It was hiliarious. We joked about how their campaign team would bad mouth our union but then send in these two trustees begging for our money. They were a joke. This is why no one believes in the Republican party any more.
You have a guy like Aaron Park, who is some type of CRA officer or jester, proclaiming the virtues of Ellen Addonizio, trustee for the CUSD, as he states “Ellen, to her credit has been a stalwart for Republican values and for the children of the district as near as I can tell from the articles”. What a joke. Not only did she get our teachers union endorsement, we did an independent expenditure for her and Larry. They came in like Judas and left with their 30 pieces of silver. Republicans thru and thru. They also asked us to do some phone banking for them with our teachers. We did.
Yes Mr. Park, these are your stalwart republicans. So now what are you going to say? They didn’t know better? They didn’t have a grasp of the republicans virtues then? They were forced by their campaign managers? Who were their campaign managers? Too bad they couldn’t talk Anna Bryson into coming in and begging for our endorsement. We could have had the Trifecta. Say goodbye to the Republican party. Thank goodness I found this blog. This should be fun.
Click here and you can see all of the Usual Suspects who endorsed Addonizio that year, including the odious Frank Ury and Carmen Cave! Now click here to see the list of Bryson’s endorsers that year. You will be hard pressed to find any squishes on her list – and the union did not endorse her, nor did Bryson ask them for money.
No wonder Addonizio was all in with the teachers during the 2010 strike. She had sold out years before.
