Per the LA Times yesterday (outside paywall here), Republican Gubernatorial candidates Tim Donnelly and Neel Kashkari are scheduled to debate each other at the Ayres Hotel in Anaheim on Thursday, May 15th. KFI-AM 640’s John and Ken Show is hosting a remote broadcast.
Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown has reportedly been invited, but it’s doubtful he would attend. Laguna Hills Mayor Andrew Blount has removed himself from the Governor’s race, citing health issues. Blount has also been rumored to be using his campaign to promote a software product he’d developed.
If this thing officially goes through, this would be the very first time that Donnelly and Kashkari have debated. Two months ago, Donnelly challenged Kashkari to a debate at the California GOP Convention, but party bosses quickly rejected Tim’s idea! This will be a fantastic opportunity for Donnelly before a broad audience to draw that stark contrast between himself and Kash on the issues and their philosophies! This may be his best and only opportunity for Tim to expose Kashkari before perhaps millions and get free media coverage doing it! We of course need to be there to support him and demonstrate the massive amount of grassroots support that Tim has!
5/1: Tim Donnelly confirms to the John and Ken Show he will be at the debate here.
