The second Feet to the Fire candidate’s forum was held tonight in Costa Mesa and as usual Chris Nguyen, over at the OC Political blog, did a fine job covering what was said.
We however would like to focus one big issue that was raised by the candidates for the 2nd District on the OC Board of Supervisors, regarding where one of them really lives.
The candidates were all there tonight including the sole Democrat, labor-lover Jim Moreno, and the three Republicans – Michelle Steel, Allan Mansoor and Joe Carchio.
Steel tried to bash Mansoor because he said he would accept a pension as a Supervisor. His response was hilarious, and spot on. He said that “he would accept the pension because he is not independently wealthy and does not have a home in Rancho Palos Verdes.”
That was a direct hit on Steel who, according to the Orange Juice blog, is renting a small place in Surfside, but really lives in a palatial estate in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, with her loaded lawyer hubby Shawn Steel.
Steel later admitted that she has only lived in Orange County since 2011, but the OJ bloggers have called BS on that.
None of the other candidates are carpetbaggers. Just Steel. That alone should be reason enough for the voters to reject her.
But add to that the fact that Steel is being supported by the same crooked Republicans who gave us the jailed former OC Sheriff Mike Carona. That came out in tonight’s debate as well, when Mansoor stated it.
Why would the wealthy Steel want to get elected to our Board of Supervisors when she is a total carpetbagger? That is a very good question to ponder. Nothing good can come from this!
