FORMER CYA DIRECTOR WALTER ALLEN ENDORSES JEFF FERGUSON FOR ORANGE COUNTY JUDGE
Walter Allen, former Special Agent for the California Department of Justice, former Director of the California Youth Authority, and Councilman for the City of Covina, endorses Ferguson for OC judge. Ferguson is a Senior Deputy District Attorney who has served as prosecutor for over thirty years.
“I worked with Jeff for many years when I was Resident Agent in Charge of the CA Department of Justice Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement. He is a creative and relentless prosecutor with a ‘get the job done right’ attitude,” said Walt Allen. “He is the real deal. He will really make a difference as a judge.”

Walter Allen had an illustrious career in law enforcement spanning more than three decades. He was a police officer for the Cal-State University Police Department, and Chino Police Department. Allen then became a Special Agent with the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement with the Los Angeles Field Office.
Promoted to Special Agent Supervisor, he became Chief Combat Firearms Instructor for the DOJ in Sacramento. In 1990 he moved to Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Organized Crime and Intelligence for the southern California region form San Diego to Los Angeles.
He then took over as Assistant Chief for the Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger first appointed him Director of the California\Youth Authority, and then appointed him Assistant Secretary Office of Correctional
Safety, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Walter Allen then retired and was elected to the Covina City Council where he serves today.
