Orange County’s Top Law Enforcement Officials Endorse Steel for Supervisor
Steel Gets Backing from Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and District Attorney Tony Rackauckas
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Today Michelle Steel announced receiving the endorsement of Orange County’s highest ranking law enforcement officials in her campaign. Both Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and District Attorney Tony Rackauckas endorse Michelle Steel for Supervisor in Orange County’s Second District.
“It’s simple, Michelle Steel is the candidate I trust to support law enforcement and to make our community a safer place,” said Sheriff Hutchens. “Michelle is a candidate who voters can trust to do what she says and that is a rare quality in politics. That’s why she has my support.”
Elected to the Board of Equalization in 2006, Michelle Steel serves as California’s senior-ranking Republican constitutional officer. A successful businesswoman and renowned taxpayer advocate, Steel represents more than eight million people in the Third District, which includes all of Orange County.
Steel’s commitment to taxpayers began three decades ago when she watched her mother fight an unwarranted Board of Equalization tax bill. As an immigrant and small business owner, Michelle’s mother lacked the resources to successfully fight a massive state agency and reluctantly acceded to the Board’s demands.
Michelle holds a degree in Business from Pepperdine University, an Executive MBA from the University of Southern California, and is fluent in Korean and Japanese. She and her husband, Shawn, have been married since 1981. They live in Surfside, California.
