Michelle Steel Earns Endorsement From Top Conservative Group
Today Michelle Steel announced receiving the endorsement of the California Republican Assembly (CRA) in her campaign to represent the 2nd District of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The CRA is widely known as one of the most conservative chartered organizations of the California Republican Party. They are the Republican Party’s largest and oldest volunteer organization and famously recognized as the “Conscience of the Republican Party” by President Ronald Regan.
CRA President John Briscoe said of Michelle Steel, “Michelle is a great conservative leader, she has a proven record standing up for taxpayers and we need more leaders like her in local government, that’s why she earned our support.”
Elected to the Board of Equalization in 2006, Michelle Steel serves as California’s senior-ranking Republican constitutional officer. A successful businesswoman and renowned taxpayer advocate, Steel represents more than eight million people in the Third District, which includes all of Orange County.
Steel’s commitment to taxpayers began three decades ago when she watched her mother fight an unwarranted Board of Equalization tax bill. As an immigrant and small business owner, Michelle’s mother lacked the resources to successfully fight a massive state agency and reluctantly acceded to the Board’s demands.
Michelle holds a degree in Business from Pepperdine University, an Executive MBA from the University of Southern California, and is fluent in Korean and Japanese. She and her husband, Shawn, have been married since 1981. They live in Surfside, California.
