Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors Backs Mayor Robert Ming for Orange County Supervisor, 5th District

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors Shawn Nelson today announced his endorsement of Laguna Niguel Mayor Robert Ming for Orange County Supervisor, 5th District.
“ With a majority of the Board of Supervisors potentially leaving office next year, Orange County needs a new set of leaders,” Chairman Nelson said. “Robert has the skills, experience and commitment necessary to lead Orange County. He knows how to work collaboratively to build a team and get things done. I strongly endorse Robert Ming as our next Supervisor for the 5th District.”

“Pension reform has always been an important issue for me,” continued Chairman Nelson, “Robert’s work in helping to develop Pension Reform Best Practice Guidelines has helped cities make real progress.” Ming was the Founding President of the Association of California Cities-Orange County and currently serves as Chair of its Pension Reform Committee.
Born and raised in Orange County, Mayor Robert Ming and his wife Susie have been married for 21 years and have four children. Ming is Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Jefferies, an international brokerage and investment-banking firm. Robert was also the Founding President of the Laguna Niguel Military Support Foundation and has served on numerous non-profit and charitable boards.
The Fifth District, being vacated by Supervisor Pat Bates due to term limits, includes the South County cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano, along with the community of Shady Canyon in the City of Irvine and the unincorporated communities of Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, and Wagon Wheel.
