Dana Point Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Bartlett Announces Bid for Orange County Supervisor
Receives Overwhelming Support from Local Elected Officials
(Dana Point, CA)- Today, Dana Point Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Bartlett announced her candidacy for Orange County Supervisor seeking to represent the 5th Supervisorial District. Lisa has quickly amassed overwhelming support from South Orange County local elected officials including Mayor of Laguna Beach Kelly Boyd, Mayor of San Juan Capistrano John Taylor and Mayor of Aliso Viejo Carmen Cave.
“As a long time leader for South Orange County, Lisa Bartlett has served the residents of her city effectively. Furthermore, as Chairwoman of the Foothill Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency she has successfully led the policy decision-making process for the surrounding region bringing much needed traffic congestion relief to our cities while protecting our quality of life,” said San Juan Capistrano Mayor John Taylor.
“As an Orange County native, Lisa has shown her commitment to the county through her various work in business, charities, education and public service,” said Aliso Viejo Mayor Carmen Cave. “I am thrilled to support her for Orange County’s 5th Supervisorial District.”
“As the Mayor of a neighboring city, I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa on multiple occasions,” said Laguna Beach Mayor Kelly Boyd. “Her commitment to public service, improving her community and strengthening the economy is unquestioned. I am proud to endorse her for Orange County Supervisor.”
“I am pleased to announce my support of Dana Point Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Bartlett,” said Dana Point Council Member Scott Schoeffel. “ I have worked with Lisa over the years and her dedication to the community is unparalleled. She’s is the right candidate to represent us on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.”
“As native Californian and long time Orange County resident, the future of this region matters a great deal to me. The State of California’s perpetual economic struggle, cuts to education and rising state taxes have put a damper on the prosperity of our county and threaten to undermine our basic quality of life,” said Bartlett. “South Orange County has had the good fortune of experienced leaders. I look forward to carrying that tradition forward to ensure Orange County remains the best place to raise a family in California. I believe my extensive background in both the private sector, as well as local and regional government, has prepared me to effectively represent the citizens of the 5th Supervisorial District. I am humbled by the support I have received from so many leaders in our community whom I have been privileged to work with over the years.”
Lisa was born and raised in Southern California, has been a resident of Dana Point since 1989, and has been active in her community and the region for many years. Lisa holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and is a licensed Real Estate Broker. She has a long and remarkable record of public service as a volunteer as well as an elected and appointed official.
Lisa is serving her second elected term as a Councilmember in the City of Dana Point. She is also serving a second term as Chairman of the Foothill Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency Board of Directors where she has been a strong advocate and leader for enhancing mobility and much needed traffic congestion relief.
Lisa serves as a Board Member of the Ocean Institute. She is also a member of the Dana Point Historical Society, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Queen of Hearts Guild, and was the Honorary Co-Chair of the American Cancer Society’s Dana Point Relay for Life. Lisa has also been a driving force for economic development in South Orange County as well as a determined advocate for public education, music and the arts.
