Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) reports on the return of the California State Legislature for the final four weeks of legislative session in his Capitol Comment report for the week of August 12th, 2013.
The State Senate must take up roughly 900 bills before the end of session, including a number of important measures. Senator Huff is critical of last minute changes made to a water bond that is slated to appear on the 2014 ballot, and also highlights possible legislative action to change California’s Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA). The Senate Republican Leader also updates legislative efforts to reform the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Senator Huff serves as the Senate Republican Leader in the California State Senate and represents the 29th Senate District, representing portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. Follow Senator Huff on Twitter @bobhuff99.
