The FBI, Internal Revenue Service, district attorney and U.S. attorney’s office have formed a task force to investigate reports of political corruption in Orange County, the FBI confirmed Wednesday. The state’s Fair Political Practices Commission, which enforces campaign reporting laws and is investigating a majority of the Board of Supervisors, as well as the board of CalOptima, also is working closely with the task force, according to county sources, according to the Voice of OC.
This has been a long time coming – but which one of our Supervisors will bite the bullet first? Which Orange County Supervisor is the most corrupt? Be sure to vote in our poll – above.
My own vote goes to Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who voted against letter grade restaurant ratings a few years ago, without telling folks that her then Chief of Staff and her husband owned a Lee’s Sandwiches in Stanton that had received a plethora of violations from the Orange County Health Agency.
Nguyen also failed to admit that she had, at the time, collected over $20K in campaign contributions from owners of restaurants, bars and other such venues who had also received many health violations.
Nguyen also schemed a takeover of the CalOptima board and then immediately began squeezing Orange County’s medical community for campaign contributions.
Nguyen has also moved her employees into various Orange County agencies – something all of the Supervisors have done despite a hiring freeze.
Nguyen is brazenly running for the 34th State Senate seat that is being vacated by Lou Correa in 2014. Let’s hope she is behind bars by then.
