Selection of Chief Real Estate Officer Announced
(Santa Ana, CA) — Following an open recruitment process, County Executive Officer Michael B. Giancola has announced the appointment of Scott D. Mayer to the position of Chief Real Estate Officer effective June 18, 2013.
“Scott brings 25 years of real estate experience to his new role with the County of Orange and we look forward to utilizing his expertise in addressing the County’scurrent and future real estate needs,” Giancola said. Mayer has most recently beenPresident and General Counsel of The Mayer Group, Inc., a Los Angeles firmadvising real estate companies, investors and developers. From 1997 to 2010, hewas President and General Counsel for Wilton Partners, Los Angeles, a national realestate development, investment, management and advisory services company.
Corporate Real Estate is responsible for a wide range of real estate matters for theCounty including acquiring, leasing and managing County-owned and occupiedfacilities and assets. The Chief Real Estate Officer will provide essential information, analysis and recommendations to County leadership in order to optimize real estate decision making.
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts degree inPhilosophy, Mayer continued his education at Loyola Law School, receiving his JurisDoctorate degree in 1987. He also received a Master of Laws degree from Golden Gate University in 1997 and holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.
