Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) details new, bipartisan legislation in his Capitol Comment for the Week of April 29th, 2013.
SCA 10 would require that all bills introduced in the California Legislature be printed – and be put online for the public to see – three days before the Assembly and State Senate can take action on them. This allows openness and transparency in state government, which is sorely lacking.
Democratic Senators Lois Wolk and Lou Correa are also serving as joint authors of this important legislation. Legislation that has bipartisan support normally moves quickly through the State Legislature and lands on the Governor’s Desk. But SCA 10 is anything but normal.
