Sheriff Sandra Hutchens feels tired most evenings as she continues to battle breast cancer, according to the Fountain Valley Patch. She says she has cut back from working 12-hour days to 8 to 9 hour days.
“The hard thing for me is fatigue, it’s hard to describe it,” said Hutchens, “it’s like coming down with flu, you are achy and tired. Your mind is ready to go, but your body isn’t following.”
We previously reported that Hutchens would not stand for re-election in 2014 and this report only confirms the whispers that she will bow out.
The battle for her seat will likely feature former OC Deputy Sheriff Bill Hunt and former Santa Ana City Manager/Chief of Police Paul Walters.
