“At least four Orange County supervisors have indicated they would be happy to reconsider Santa Barbara County CEO Chandra L. Wallar for the job of chief executive officer in the county, now that Santa Barbara County supervisors have decided not to keep her,” according to the Aliso Viejo Patch.
Oh my. Apparently the Supervisors in Santa Barbara weren’t happy that Wallar was considering a job elsewhere. So she will be out of there by October.
It sounds like the O.C. Supervisors are willing to offer her about $275K which is a raise for her as she currently makes about $235K. A sticking point is that the County CEO’s in San Diego and Riverside make $300K. So what? This is Orange County. Wouldn’t you rather work here?
Wallar was not pleased when “her negotiations with Orange County supervisors were leaked to the Voice of OC website and that the supervisors later discussed her offer in public.” That was clearly done by forces aligned with the OCEA – the County Employees union that funds the Voice of OC. Wallar needs to get over it. Or else she ought not apply here again. We don’t need a CEO that is going to be a whiny prima donna.
