ECCO coordinated Orange County’s efforts to pass state laws that: prohibit discrimination against Gays and Lesbians; establish a domestic partner registry; and give students an added level of protection in school, according to their website. Not cool. Not even close. While I am glad to see endorsements for those with open minds you appear to have deliberately put Jordan’s photo (and a bad one at that) into that post, and into the title, in what looks to be some innuendo alluding to his sexuality. This has been a nasty rumor for years, if Jordan was indeed gay it would not make a difference, although he says he is not and I have no reason to believe otherwise. But by promoting the Jordan as a gay man rumor your slant is that it is a negative, that being gay is a bad thing that someone should be ashamed of. I see bloggers saying “so and so is gay” in the same tone they might use to say “so and so is a felon” and that is exactly what we do NOT need more of. You set gay rights back decades when playing that game, and while I have my issues with Jordan right now, your post is just plain scummy. If you have problems with Jordan’s politics, come out and say so, but take this crap off the table for discussion.
You’re barking up the wrong tree. I am 100 % for gay rights. The picture we used was posted in a public forum and we felt it was whimsical. You’re projecting your own hangups here.
Of all the photos out there of Jordan you pick that one? And of all the endorsements listed you chose to link ONLY his name in your tags. Gimme a break.
His race is one of the most contentious ones in Orange County. And I wrote another article about the ECCO endorsements on my Santa Ana blog.
I don’t tell you how to manage your blog, which I have by the way linked to. So where do you get off telling me how to run mine? Maybe you should focus on posting more articles on your blog. You’re barely posting over there.
I guess I am focused on quality over quantity.
Or you are lazy and have no idea what to write about.
