Hate Crimes Up in Orange County in 2011
OC Human Relations Releases the 2011 Hate Crime Report
The 2011 Orange County Hate Crime Report shows a considerable increase in hate crimes over the prior year. As OC Human Relations prepares to release the 2011 Report on Hate Crimes, it is important to recognize that each of the hate crimes and incidents included in the report represents one of our neighbors who was targeted simply because of some aspect of their being – their ethnicity, religion, race, sexual orientation or ability.
To ensure a healthy and peaceful community, a constant effort needs to be made to improve awareness, respect and appreciation for the diverse communities that comprise Orange County’s population.
Please join OC Human Relations, law enforcement and community leaders on August 30th as we examine the report and discuss the implications of under-reporting in our community.

OC Human Relations Council
