MEXICAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION PAC ENDORSES JAY CHEN FOR CONGRESS
The Mexican American Bar Association PAC has announced its endorsement of Jay Chen, Democratic nominee for the newly redrawn 39th Congressional District. A school board member, Navy intelligence officer, and small businessman, Chen attended public schools in this district and has fought for educational equity while on the school board. The Congressional district is among the most diverse in California, with approximately 30% of residents of Hispanic descent and 30% of Asian descent.
“MABA PAC is proud to support a candidate who truly represents the present and future of this district. As a school board member in Hacienda-La Puente Unified, which is 70% Latino, Jay worked tirelessly to expand educational opportunities for all of his students,” said MABA PAC President Felipe Plascencia. “He is a proud product of local schools, fluent in Spanish and Mandarin, and is the breath of fresh air that our Congress needs.”
“I’m honored to have received this endorsement from MABA PAC,” said Chen. “The empowerment and advocacy they provide to the Latino community is an example of what we need to bring to Washington.”
The MABA PAC is one of the most influential Latino organizations in California and is comprised of members that are attorneys, civic leaders and business people from diverse ethnic backgrounds. MABA PAC’s goal is to empower the Latino community to be more involved in civic affairs and to help elect civic leaders that will ensure that the American dream is available to people from all backgrounds.
