ORANGE COUNTY – The Campaign Finance Reports, filed July 31, 2012, provide yet another example of Los Alamitos Mayor Troy Edgar’s dominance in the 72nd Assembly District race.
The numbers released late Tuesday show him with more than a 2-1 fundraising advantage and nearly a 9-1 advantage in Cash on Hand (COH) at the close of the reporting period. The report covers all transactions through June 30, 2012.
Reports show Edgar raised $379,018, and ended with COH of $96,686. This places him in an excellent position to build on his overwhelming first place finish in the June election.
Edgar finished the June election in first place, with 18,060 votes (28%) and was victorious in 166 of 320 precincts.
“I am heartened by the response from so many in Orange County and Sacramento who believe I am the right person to represent the 72nd Assembly District in Sacramento,” said Edgar. “When local folks open their checkbooks in support of your candidacy, it is quite humbling, and I won’t let them down.”
Troy Edgar is the only candidate to release a 6-point contract with the residents of the 72nd District – and his message of representing taxpayers and homeowners, cutting onerous business regulations, returning local control of education and supporting and defending the death penalty and Three Strikes has resonated with the voters. His background in creating and building businesses coupled with his regional infrastructure leadership has placed him in the strongest position to win the 72nd Assembly District in the November election.
Troy Edgar is a husband and father of three sons, a homeowner, Navy veteran, owns and operates two businesses, and is serving his second term as Mayor of Los Alamitos. Edgar is also a regionally recognized leader as evidenced by his recent election as the Chair of the Orange County Sanitation District. Troy and his wife Betty, a school teacher, live in Los Alamitos.
