I received a political slate mailer this weekend from the “National Tax-Limitation Committee,” but I was not surprised to see that the mailer was used to tout Democrats, including the career politician Tom Daly and an obscure candidate for the Orange County Board of Education, Kenneth Nguyen.
Daly is well known for his record of wasting millions of dollars on empty buildings, questionable satellite offices in high-rent areas, and six figure political crony hires. Nguyen on the other hand is a political neophyte who told the O.C. Register that he believes in deregulation of education, but at the same time he supports the onerous Federal No Child Left Behind Act. Were he to be elected I have no doubt that Nguyen would support every education bond and tax that came his way.
This is why you should throw away all slate mailers. The folks who publish them sell their space to any and all takers. Daly and Nguyen are for anything but tax limitation. But you wouldn’t know that if you received this slate mailer.
The bogus slate mailer also supported a slew of candidates for the OC GOP’s Central Committee in the 69th Assembly District, that were rejected by the O.C. Lincoln Club, including government workers Thomas Gordon, Charles Hart and Lupe Moreno.
