O.C. Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly finally launched a website touting his campaign for the heavily Latino 69th Assembly District.
As I have come to expect from Orange County Democrats, his website has no mention of the issues. But it does include one of the most hilarious pictures I have ever seen in Orange County politics – Daly, standing on a bridge by the MainPlace Mall, surrounded by children of color. Yep, Daly is the white knight come to save us from ourselves!
I wonder if these kids know about Daly’s past attacks on the poor, including his efforts to drive poor famlies out of Anaheim motels? Or his attempt to keep the Gigante Supermarket out of Anaheim? What a joke.
Daly did address the issues in the O.C. Register’s Voter Guide. When asked what is the most pressing issue in our state besides the budget, he said it was the cost of books at community colleges. He made no mention of the public employees pension crisis at all.
It is not a surprise that Daly is not acknoweldging the public pension crisis. In a press release his campaign issued today he touted that “he has been endorsed by the Anaheim Police Officers Political Action Committee, the Orange County Coalition of Police & Sheriffs (O.C. Cops), and the Orange County Chapter of the Peace Officers Research Association of California (OC/PORAC).” Of course they endorsed them – he is going to make sure they get their six figure public employee pensions!
Michele Martinez has no positions on issues either. Daly added more parks to Anaheims poorest Latino neighborhoods than Michele has. Just admit it, Martinez pays you to write nice things about her.
I designed her campaign website in 2010. I have not provided any services to her this year.
Daly’s anti-Latino record is not going to be washed away by posing with Latino students.
Is Joe Hill a fake name?
After all that garbage about Sockpupetry, “Joe Hill” is the best Dan can come up with?
More and more jubalesque over there which makes even Diamond look competent!
He was appointed, not elected to the Anaheim Union High school Board with the help of his mentor and boss Supervisor Ralph Clark in july of 1986, not !985. Why distort the truth?
Also, in his website it says that he was a critic of utility tax. This is correct, he ran for Mayor and won, opposing the utility Tax but didn’t lift a finger in having it rescinded even though he had the votes.
He waited for it to expire and then it was voted on to not extend it .
Is something is wrong, you change it when you can. You don’t wait and take advantage of it (basically do what the previous Mayor did) and then act like you were a leader in ending it.
That is what an opportunist does, a political opportunist.
