While many of us know that Orange County’s Little Saigon area was settled by thousands of Vietnamese families, after the fall of Saigon, in Vietnam. But did you know that there were also a number of Vietnamese families who settled in Louisiana? It is true and perhaps that is what Garden Grove Planning Commissioner Joe Dovinh had in mind when he decided to hold a fundraiser for his 72nd Assembly District campaign at “Dang Crabs,” a Cajun restaurant in Garden Grove.
Dovinh is holding the event this Monday, March 19th, from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Dang Crabs is located at 13030 Harbor Blvd., in Garden Grove.
Dovinh, a former Decline to State voter who is now a Democrat, will be listed on the June primary ballot ahead of fellow Vietnamese American candidate Long Pham, who is a Republican.
