LPOC Chairman Tom Hanson moved to support the Fullerton Recall after I brought up the issue. I happily seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. With this move the Libertarian Party of Orange County becomes the first political party in Orange County to endorse the Fullerton Recall! Our party has been growing – we now have almost 12,000 voting members in Orange County – as such this endorsement does matter in what will be a heated recall election.
I wrote previously about the Fullerton Recall after they collected and turned in well over 50,000 signatures from Fullerton residents who support putting the recall on the ballot. The Council Members in question did not get elected by accident. They had the full support of Republican Congressman Ed Royce – and many other O.C. Republicans. Click here to read about that.
All three of the Fullerton Council Members facing recall supported an illegal tax disguised as a “franchise fee” on the water bills of Fullerton residents. This illegal tax collected millions of dollars that has in part, paid to support the massive public pensions due to Bankhead and McKinley – both of them ex Fullerton cops.
And as you no doubt know, ex cops McKinley and Bankhead, and their pal Jones, circled the wagons after bad Fullerton cops killed Kelly Thomas. The bad cop culture in Fullerton was McKinley’s creation when he was their Chief of Police.
